My Story

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of California and practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine as a primary care provider. I am grounded as an holistic medical practitioner and I put great emphasis to see beyond conventional diagnostics to view the underlying energetic quality of a person and his/her state of health or disease. My goal is to bring compassion, understanding and skill to treat a wide range of conditions in adults and children.

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is based on the theory that Qi (pronounced"chee") moves through the body by way of channels (Energy Pathways) similar to blood moving through arteries and veins. Each Organ System has a corresponding set of channels. The acupuncture points are located in small depressions in the skin where the channels come closest to the surface. Thin, solid, sterile stainless steel acupuncture needles are inserted into acupuncture points to communicate from the outside, directing the energy flow, or Qi flow through these channels where healing needs to take place.

How does it feel?

Inserstion of these hair thin needles goes mostly unnoticed, some feel a small pinch followed by a sensation of tingling, numbness, warmth or heaviness. The needles remain in place for for twenty to thirty minutes. The number or treatments needed depends upon the duration, severity and nature of the persons condition. For an acute condition two or three treatments may be sufficiant, while five to 15 treatments may be needed to resolve chronic conditions. Usually people find the treatments relaxing physically and or emotionally.
